All law school grades are in.

So, that's it. I'm done waiting for grades from law school classes to be posted. No more law school grades. In 8 semesters, not once did I pull off straight As. Despite the fact that I am opposed to our grading system's inclusion of the last grade I received, I will be unprincipled and accept it. Just curious ...

What is this opposition to the last grade you received that you speak of? New grade distributions

Generally, I was/am opposed to the way the new grade distributions were slipstreamed in. It disadvantaged those who were further along. While I could generally ignore the softening of the curve, since most happened at the tail, the introduction of the 4.3 point A+ really irritated me, as one chasing the next significant ranking cutoff. And so, it was an A+. I'll take it, of course. :) However, the difference is significant in overall GPA. An A+ appearing in my final 3 units is worth 13-thousandths of a point more than an A. A stupid issue to be bothered by? Probably. As long as they exist, I wasn't going to lobby to have one not given to me. However, I don't feel that any of the new grading policies should have been applied to current students. I agree wholeheartedly

I support the change to the grading system, but it should have only been applied to incoming classes. Post new comment |
